All competitors must declare their intention to compete in an event by handing in the appropriate “Rfid Confirmation Card” at the “Confirmation Desk” of the Palaindoor; the card will be read to the desk and the system will electronically confirm the release later received a paper that the athlete will keep.
Athletes will not be permitted to participate in an event unless they hand in the appropriate “Rfid Confirmation Card” enclosed in the Registration Package.
Rfid Confirmation Cards for events starting from 10.00 AM may be turned in up until 2 ½ hours before the scheduled event, only on the day of the event or in the afternoon or evening the day before the event. For the events starting before 10.00 AM, Rfid Confirmation Cards must be submitted at the appropriate Confirmation Desk no later than 21.00 (9.00 PM) of the previous day.
An athlete that does not hand in the Rfid Confirmation Card has to turn to the Confirmation Desk by set term and fill the card which operators will give to him. Those not following these rules will not be allowed to participate in that event.
Athletes are only required to declare once for each event, before the start of the first round (or first event of Combined Events) of each competition. Further confirmations for proceeding rounds will not be necessary. If there is a "bona fide" reason for not taking part in subsequent rounds athletes should let the appropriate official (Referee) know, within 30 minutes of qualifying for the subsequent round, particularly in any finals, as failure to do this could lead to disqualification from competing in other events.
Note IAAF Rule 142 (4) and Note 2. : Failure to participate includes failure to compete honestly with bona fide effort)( after declaring).
